The warehouse lights blazed to life, flooding the room with harsh white glare. Arman, Riya, and Kian shielded their eyes, stunned by Zara’s revelation.

“You weren’t kidnapped?” Arman’s voice cracked with disbelief.

Zara straightened, her posture calm, almost defiant. “No. I let them think I was. It was the only way to get inside their operation. I’ve been feeding them just enough to keep their trust.”

Riya’s voice trembled. “You lied to us. You let us think you were in danger.”

Zara’s eyes softened, though her tone remained firm. “If I told you, you would have tried to stop me. This was the only way to learn what they’re planning.”

Kian stepped forward, anger flashing. “And what did you learn? That they’re willing to destroy everything? That they’ll come after us?”

Zara met his gaze. “I learned they’re closer than we thought. They’ve already mapped the grid. They’re preparing for something big—something irreversible.”

Arman’s chest tightened. “How long do we have?”

Zara hesitated, her eyes flicking toward the ceiling as if she could hear the hum of servers hidden in the shadows. “Not long. They’re moving fast.”

Before anyone could respond, the warehouse speakers crackled to life. A distorted voice filled the air, cold and deliberate:

“Black Circuit does not tolerate betrayal. Countdown initiated.”

On the monitors lining the far wall, numbers began to flash in red:

The timer ticked down, second by second.

Riya’s breath caught. “They’ve started the blackout countdown.”
